Each year, LINK brings the holiday spirit to life with our CANLINK Christmas Dinner. It's a heartwarming event where we gather gifts for the children residing in our CANLINK Permanent Supportive Housing Program. We extend a warm invitation to all our clients to join us for a delightful catered Christmas feast.
The children receive their gifts, thanks to the generosity of our community, through our Share the Spirit program. This program allows individuals to sponsor families in need, filling our offices with an array of toys, clothing, shoes, and school supplies to brighten their holidays.
In 2022, we joined forces with Claus Cares to add an extra sprinkle of magic. Santa himself made a special appearance during the dinner, personally delivering gifts and spreading joy to all. Explore our heartwarming gallery to catch a glimpse of this unforgettable evening.
In 2023, we forged an impactful partnership with Wavy TV 10 and Nexstar for the remarkable Founders Day of Caring. Together, we embarked on a mission to make a difference in our community, and the results were truly extraordinary.
Wavy TV 10 lent their support in various ways, starting with a substantial food drive that resulted in an astounding 400 pounds of food collected for our Emergency Services Food Pantry. Their commitment extended to organizing our clothing closet on-site, ensuring our resources were accessible and well-arranged.
At our Veterans Shelter, their team dedicated their time and energy to enhance our facilities. This included a new paint job and giving our veterans a vegetable garden.
But the generosity didn't stop there. Thanks to an inspiring collaboration with Casey Chevrolet, our veterans received the incredible gift of a brand-new 2020 Subaru Ascent, empowering them with newfound mobility and independence.
To top it all off, Wavy TV 10 presented us with a significant donation of $10,000. This vital contribution will help us repair our walk-in freezer in the food pantry, ensuring that we can continue providing essential resources to those in need.
The Love Your Neighbor Block Party, now in its second annual installment, brought our community together in a spectacular way in 2023, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Partnering with Tradition Brewing, we created a memorable day filled with fun, laughter, and a strong sense of unity. A significant portion of the proceeds from Tradition Brewing were generously donated to support our shared mission. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Corey Moreno, the dedicated event coordinator at Tradition Brewing, who went above and beyond to make this event a resounding success. This year's block party was a vibrant celebration, featuring an array of activities and attractions that brought joy to all who attended: 🎉 Free Games: From the thrill of the Dunk Tank to the epic battles on the Gladiator Joust, and the daring rides on the Mechanical Bull, our block party was an adventure-packed day. There was also the Inflatable Log Jump, Air Hockey, Cornhole, and so much more to keep everyone entertained. 🎉 30+ Local Craft Vendors: We showcased the incredible talent of our local artisans and crafters, offering a diverse range of unique and handmade goods for attendees to explore and enjoy. 🎉 Music: Our stage came alive with the sounds of talented performers. The EarthTones kicked off the festivities from 2pm to 3pm, setting the perfect tone for the day. The DOG Street Boys took the stage from 4pm to 7pm, ensuring everyone was grooving to the beat. 🎉 Pie Eating Contest 🥧: For those with a competitive spirit and a love for pie, our pie eating contest added a delicious and entertaining twist to the festivities. 🎉 Food Trucks: Foodies were in for a treat with a delectable lineup of food trucks, including Dominion Dogs, Munchies and Such, and Another One Bites the Crust, serving up mouthwatering delights to satisfy every craving.
